Moderation & Enforcement Policy
Ferrisvheel.net — Moderation & Enforcement Policy
Effective date: 19 September 2026
Website: ferrisvheel.net
Support: support@ferrisvheel.net
1. Purpose
Ferrisvheel is intended to be a relaxed, long-term Minecraft community.
Moderation exists primarily to protect the community, maintain the operation of the server, and address behaviour that goes beyond reasonable player freedom.
Not every possible situation can be covered by a written rule. Staff may therefore exercise reasonable discretion when responding to situations that are not specifically addressed by the Community Rules.
2. Staff Discretion
Staff may consider factors including:
- What occurred;
- The severity of the behaviour;
- Whether it was intentional;
- The impact on other players;
- Previous behaviour;
- Whether the behaviour continued after being asked to stop; and
- Any relevant circumstances.
Similar incidents may not always receive identical outcomes.
3. Possible Enforcement Actions
Depending on the circumstances, staff may use:
- Informal warnings;
- Formal warnings;
- Removal or deletion of content;
- Temporary chat restrictions;
- Temporary removal from the server;
- Temporary bans;
- Permanent bans;
- Whitelist removal; or
- Other reasonable administrative measures.
Staff are not required to use every step in this list or follow them in a fixed order.
Serious incidents may result in immediate action.
4. Player Freedom
Ferrisvheel intentionally allows a significant degree of player freedom.
Swearing, unusual builds, disagreements, pranks, stealing, griefing, and other forms of normal survival gameplay may be permitted according to the current Community Rules.
Moderation is not intended to eliminate normal conflict or enforce personal preferences.
Staff intervention is primarily intended for situations involving serious abuse, harassment, threats, exploitation, deliberate disruption, or conduct that materially damages the community.
5. Evidence
Staff may consider information reasonably available to them when investigating an incident.
This may include:
- Server logs;
- Chat logs;
- Screenshots;
- Video recordings;
- Player reports;
- Plugin records;
- Website records; and
- Other relevant technical information.
6. Confidentiality
Information relating to moderation investigations may be kept confidential where disclosure could compromise another person's privacy, server security, or an ongoing investigation.
Staff may therefore decline to provide private information about another player.
7. Appeals
Players may appeal significant moderation actions through official Ferrisvheel support.
Appeals should be made in good faith and provide relevant information that may help staff reconsider the matter.
See the Ban & Appeal Policy for further information.
8. Abuse of the Reporting System
False reports, malicious reports, or attempts to manipulate moderation through fabricated evidence may themselves result in moderation action.
9. Staff Conduct
Staff are expected to exercise their authority reasonably and in the interests of the community.
Concerns regarding staff conduct may be raised privately through:
