About Ferrisvheel Commonwealth
A Minecraft world built to last.
Ferrisvheel Commonwealth is a small, Australian-based Minecraft server built around a simple idea: a world that doesn't have to end after a few weeks.
Rather than treating Ferrisvheel as another short-lived SMP, it is designed more like a forever world online — somewhere for friends, returning players, and new faces to build, explore, and leave their mark over time.
Ferrisvheel is a semi-closed, application-based community. Anyone is welcome to apply, and successful applicants are given access to the server. There are no requirements to be a long-time friend or part of an existing group — the application simply helps us keep the community intentional while still giving new people a chance to join.
Not quite a normal whitelist
Ferrisvheel has a little more to it than simply being whitelisted or not.
Anyone who has access to the server can enter as a visitor and explore the world before becoming a full player.
Visitors are given a protected, spectator-like experience:
- You don't lose hunger.
- You can't take damage.
- You can't attack other players or mobs.
- You can't interfere with the world.
- You can't break or place blocks.
- You can freely walk around and explore.
It's essentially a way to see what Ferrisvheel is about before actually becoming part of the world.
Once you're approved for full access, you can actually play, build, explore, and contribute to the world.
Vanilla+
Ferrisvheel is built on Minecraft 26.2, keeping the core experience recognisably vanilla while adding features that make the world more interesting and convenient.
We've added custom structures, new encounters, useful commands, quality-of-life features, custom mechanics, Simple Voice Chat, graves, custom recipes, and plenty of other additions without trying to turn the server into a completely different game.
The goal is simple:
Keep Minecraft feeling like Minecraft and maybe just make the world a little better.
You can see the full list of features on the Features page.
An Australian server
Ferrisvheel is hosted and operated around an Australian community and timezone.
That doesn't mean you need to be Australian to join, We love having members around the globe.
Built around people, not numbers
Ferrisvheel isn't trying to become a massive public server with thousands of players.
The community is intentionally kept relatively small and personal.
We'd rather have a world where you recognise the people you run into, know the names behind the builds, and actually see the world develop over time.
There's a forum, community features, voice chat, a live player roster, build records, and other parts of the website designed around documenting the world as it grows.
So, why Ferrisvheel?
Because Minecraft worlds are better when they feel like somewhere you can come back to.
Build something.
Explore somewhere nobody has been.
Find a strange structure in the wilderness.
Start a project that takes months.
Leave a little piece of yourself in the world.
Then come back six months later and keep going.
That's what Ferrisvheel is meant to be.
A bit more than just another 2 week phase.
A world that's here to stay.
Want to see it for yourself?
