Community Policy
Ferrisvheel.net — Community & Server Policy
Effective date: 19 September 2026
Server: Ferrisvheel
Support: support@ferrisvheel.net
Ferrisvheel is intended to be a long-term Minecraft world and community rather than a short-lived seasonal server.
The server is designed to give players substantial freedom while maintaining a reasonable standard of respect and common sense.
1. Common Sense
Use common sense.
Not every possible behaviour needs to be specifically listed in these rules. Staff may intervene when behaviour clearly goes against the spirit of the community, even if a specific scenario is not explicitly described.
2. Respect Other Players
Players should not:
- Threaten other players;
- Harass or stalk players;
- Deliberately target someone with abusive behaviour;
- Encourage real-world harm;
- Repeatedly disrupt another player's ability to enjoy the server; or
- Attempt to create an unsafe or hostile environment.
Disagreements between players are expected from time to time. Handle them reasonably.
3. Language
Swearing and mature language are generally permitted.
This does not give players permission to use threats, targeted harassment, or abusive behaviour against others.
Context matters, and staff may intervene where language becomes part of sustained harassment or other unacceptable conduct.
4. Builds
Builds are generally not moderated for aesthetic reasons.
Players are free to build according to their own tastes and interests.
However, staff may intervene where a build:
- Intentionally targets or harasses another player;
- Deliberately interferes with the server;
- Attempts to circumvent server rules;
- Creates a serious disruption; or
- Pushes reasonable community boundaries to an extent requiring intervention.
Staff discretion applies.
5. Griefing and Stealing
Griefing and stealing may be permitted within the server's intended survival gameplay.
However, players are expected to exercise reasonable judgement and courtesy.
Do not use these mechanics as a pretext for sustained harassment, personal targeting, or attempts to make another player's experience miserable.
Where appropriate, players should resolve conflicts between themselves before requesting staff intervention.
6. Exploits and Bugs
Do not intentionally abuse serious server, plugin, or game-breaking exploits.
If you discover a significant vulnerability or exploit, report it to staff.
Minor vanilla mechanics and normal gameplay quirks are not automatically considered exploits.
7. Cheating
Unauthorised clients, cheats, hacks, or other software intended to provide an unfair gameplay advantage are prohibited.
Staff may investigate suspicious activity where reasonably necessary.
8. Alternate Accounts
Alternate accounts must not be used to evade bans, restrictions, or other administrative action.
Staff may restrict alternate accounts where necessary to maintain server security or moderation.
9. Advertising
Do not use Ferrisvheel as a platform for unsolicited advertising, spam, or promotion of unrelated servers or communities without permission.
10. Staff
Staff decisions are made to protect the long-term health and operation of the server.
Players may respectfully question or appeal a moderation decision through official support.
Do not attempt to pressure, threaten, impersonate, or manipulate staff into reversing an administrative action.
11. Reporting Issues
Players should report serious issues through official support:
When reporting an issue, provide enough information for staff to investigate, such as:
- Minecraft username;
- Approximate date/time;
- What occurred;
- Relevant coordinates;
- Screenshots or recordings where available; and
- Any other useful evidence.
12. Enforcement
Depending on the circumstances, staff may use:
- Informal warnings;
- Official warnings;
- Temporary restrictions;
- Rollbacks;
- Removal of access;
- Temporary bans; or
- Permanent bans.
Not every violation will result in the same response.
The circumstances, severity, history, intent, and impact of the behaviour may all be considered.
13. Rule Changes
These rules may change as Ferrisvheel develops.
Significant changes may be communicated through the server, website, Discord, or other official community channels.
14. Final Principle
The simplest rule is:
Have fun, use common sense, and don't deliberately ruin the experience for everyone else.
